Waters [Fam • ily]

When Renee contacted me about taking pictures of her family, I was so excited. I first met Kevin almost 3 years ago while joining my husband for dinner while he was at work. Kevin and my husband work together, so even though Kevin wasn’t working he still joined the ‘boys’ for a bite. He had his twins with him, Calvin & Cassie, who at the time were just over a year and a half old. It was so fun to see their different personalities. I met Renee at my mother-in-law’s retirement party almost a year later.

Fast forward a few years to our photo session on June 29th. I wasn’t sure how much ‘fun’ it was going to be since the weather is less than enjoyable right now. We experienced one of the hottest months of June in history. We were lucky to pick a day where the high only reached the 90′s and since we had our session in the evening and there was a breeze it wasn’t too bad. As soon as the twins reacquainted themselves with me, they were ready to get the ‘party’ started. They were told, after the session they could throw rocks into the lake, so they were set to go. Once I started snapping the shutter, the heat no longer became a thought in my mind. I was laughing and having such a good time…and it seemed that they were as well.

We started the session with the kids in special outfits that were made by Rebekah of Mrs. B’s Accessories. She used one of Kevin’s work shirts to make them and they couldn’t have been any cuter. Her work is amazing. Then after a quick change of clothes, I finished the session with many more giggles, wiggles, drool and smiles. I welcome the ‘chaos’ because it translates into real personalities and natural smiles.

Being that the twins are 4 years old and little Nathaniel is almost 8 months they rocked the session. They were so fun to watch interact with each other and it was evident the twins have such a good time with their little brother.

Enjoy a few of my favorites:

With the July 4th Holiday falling in the middle of the week, out-of-town family came in for a visit this weekend. One of those special family members was my 6 month old niece, Kimberlyn. She is such a doll and has a personality to match.

Things haven’t always been smiles and roses with this little bundle. She had colic for the first three months of her little life and was miserable. Since the number one concern was to make her comfortable and keep mom and dad sane, I wasn’t able to get her in front of my camera as much as I would have liked. However, that has all changed now. She is such a happy and content baby.

I was so excited when my sister-in-law said she wanted to come over this afternoon for a quick little session. She said she had purchased an adorable outfit and wanted to get a few shots of her in it. Boy, she wasn’t kiddin’…her outfit was so stinkin’ cute!! I could take pictures of her all day and sometimes I wonder if her smile would have ever faded.

Here’s some of my favorites:

Kenzie Jo ~ 16 days new

I had recently purchased several new props and was eager to try them out. After posting something on Facebook about needing newborn models I was contacted by Kayla. I was so excited to get the opportunity to capture sweet baby Kenzie Jo. This wasn’t just any newborn shoot, this was a full circle moment. I was lucky enough to capture Kayla & Zach’s engagement pictures and the (at the time) most memorable day of their lives…their wedding day.

I could have stayed all day, loving on sweet Kenzie. I am mesmerized by all the dark hair she has…I just love it! She was such a trooper and she didn’t mind me interupting her schedule, which I greatly appreciated.

I am anxiously awaiting the day when I get to capture their family pictures. In the meantime, here are a few pictures from today.

Allow me to introduce myself…

I am first and foremost a child of God. He has blessed me with the opportunity to do what I love. I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a grand daughter, an Aunt and a very fun loving person. It wasn’t until my son was born that I believed in myself enough to take the first step on this journey. After he was born, I realized how fast the days were going by and I didn’t want to miss one opportunity to capture a memory. I couldn’t imagine any other parent wanting to miss them either.

After some discussing with my amazing supportive husband, I decided to put myself out there and offer my casual and contemporary photography style to others. I wanted to offer something different from other photographers. My style won’t appeal to everyone but in the end my goal is to capture real moments. At the completion of a session I want to feel like we’ve known each other for years. I’m laid back and strive for a relaxing fun session every time. It is my intention to use this blog to highlight sessions and welcome others into the experience of a session with Linegar Photography. The biggest compliment anyone could ever give…is to hang a piece of my photography art on their wall.  I look forward to seeing you soon, on the other side of my lens.
